The Team

The people building India's solar infrastructure.

Aerem's leadership brings together structured finance, distributed systems engineering, energy operations, and marketplace growth. Every member of the leadership team was recruited because they had already solved a version of the problem Aerem is building.

Leadership Team

Vikram Mehta

Co-founder and CEO

IIT Bombay (B.Tech, Electrical Engineering) | IIM Ahmedabad (MBA)

Prior: ICICI Bank, 8 years (structured finance) | McKinsey and Company, 3 years (energy practice)

Vikram founded Aerem after observing, firsthand at ICICI Bank, how many qualified homeowners and small businesses were unable to access solar financing -- not because of creditworthiness, but because no lending product had been designed for it. At McKinsey, he led engagements on energy access and distributed generation for state electricity boards.

He filed Aerem's first NBFC license application with the RBI in 2019 and obtained the Certificate of Registration in 2021. His background in structured finance shaped Aerem's approach: the NBFC is not a product feature, it is the structural core of the business.

"Every Indian home deserves clean energy. We built Aerem to make that possible -- not in decades, but in months. When your EMI is less than your electricity bill, the decision makes itself."

Ananya Krishnan

Co-founder and CTO

IIT Madras (B.Tech, Computer Science) | Stanford University (MS, Computer Science)

Prior: Amazon Web Services, 6 years (distributed systems) | Flipkart, 2 years (payments infrastructure)

Ananya built the Aerem technology platform from the ground up. Her six years at AWS gave her the distributed systems architecture experience required to monitor 1,200+ MW of solar capacity in real time across diverse inverter hardware. Her two years at Flipkart building payments infrastructure informed the design of Aerem's digital underwriting system, which compresses loan pre-approval from 4-6 weeks to under five minutes.

She leads engineering, product, and data. The AeROC monitoring platform, the NetZero Finance underwriting engine, and the PartnerApp mobile platform are all products built under her technical direction.

"Solar adoption is stuck in a paper-and-handshake era. We are building the technology layer that turns a 90-day process into a seamless digital experience -- for homeowners, installers, and lenders."

Rajesh Sundaram

CFO

Chartered Accountant (CA) | CFA

Prior: HDFC Bank, 12 years (retail lending and NBFC operations) | Bajaj Finance, 4 years

Rajesh joined Aerem after twelve years in retail lending at HDFC Bank, where he led NBFC compliance and structured product design for the bank's solar and home improvement loan portfolios. At Bajaj Finance, he managed the risk framework for a Rs 8,000 crore consumer lending book.

At Aerem, he oversees the NetZero Finance NBFC's financial operations, capital structure, and regulatory compliance. His experience at India's two most respected lending institutions gives Aerem's NBFC the institutional credibility that a six-year-old company could not otherwise claim.

"As an NBFC, our cost of capital is our competitive advantage. We have structured products that make solar financing as simple as a personal loan -- but with the asset backing of a 25-year power plant on your roof."

Meera Joshi

VP Operations

BITS Pilani (B.E., Mechanical Engineering)

Prior: Tata Power Solar, 10 years (operations and project delivery) | Enphase Energy India, 3 years

Meera has overseen the commissioning of residential and commercial solar systems totalling more than 400 MW over her career at Tata Power Solar and Enphase. She joined Aerem to build the installer certification program and operational quality framework that converts a fragmented market of independent installers into a certified, accountable network.

Under her leadership, Aerem's installer certification program has grown to 3,200+ partners across 150+ cities. She introduced the four-pillar certification standard -- training, equipment compliance, quality audit, and customer satisfaction score -- that governs every Aerem partner's membership in the network.

"I have seen thousands of installations. The difference between a good one and a bad one is the installer. That is why we certify every partner, monitor every project, and guarantee every system."

Arjun Reddy

VP Partnerships

IIM Bangalore (MBA)

Prior: Urban Company, 7 years (city launches and partner onboarding) | Swiggy, 3 years (restaurant partnerships)

Arjun joined Aerem with direct experience in the hardest operational challenge the company faces: recruiting, onboarding, and retaining a large network of independent service businesses. At Urban Company, he led city launches across seven metros, onboarding and training thousands of independent professionals. At Swiggy, he managed the restaurant partnership function for five cities during the company's highest-growth period.

At Aerem, he oversees partner recruitment, tier advancement, and geographic expansion. The growth from 100 installer partners in 2020 to 3,200+ in 2026 is the direct result of the systems his team has built.

"Our 3,200 installer partners are not vendors -- they are entrepreneurs building solar businesses. Aerem exists to make them more successful, not to replace them."
