When 20 families in a society go solar together instead of separately, three things happen:
Volume procurement through SunStore means each family pays less per kW than going solo. Typical group savings: Rs 8,000-15,000 per installation versus individual purchase.
One installer team does all the work in sequence. DISCOM visits happen once, not 20 separate times. Net meter applications go together. The whole project is faster and less disruptive.
One team submits all applications, monitors all approvals, and tracks all subsidies. Each family gets their individual Rs 78,000 subsidy -- but the coordination burden falls on us, not on 20 different families.
One RWA member fills the society inquiry form. We contact the RWA committee to understand the building, the rooftop, and typical consumption.
Suryam conducts a single site survey for the entire building. We assess rooftop capacity, structural load, shading from water tanks and overhead structures, and DISCOM feasibility for group metering.
We prepare a group proposal. Each flat owner sees their individual system size, price (after group discount), EMI, and monthly savings. They can choose to participate or not -- there is no pressure and no minimum group size.
Participating flat owners complete individual pre-approval for financing. Each person owns their system, their loan, and their subsidy.
Our certified installer completes all installations in sequence -- typically within 2 weeks for a 20-flat society.
DISCOM net metering coordination happens once for the building. PM Surya Ghar applications are filed together.
Under PM Surya Ghar, group housing societies qualify for a different subsidy rate than individual homes. Here is how the economics work honestly.

Under PM Surya Ghar, group housing societies qualify for a subsidy of Rs 18,000 per kW (versus Rs 30,000/kW for individual homes). For a 3 kW system per flat, the group subsidy is Rs 54,000 per flat -- less than the individual Rs 78,000. However, group installation pricing typically saves Rs 15,000-25,000 per flat due to volume discounts. The net economics are often better through group installation even with the lower subsidy rate. We model both options for your society and recommend whichever is more economical.
