Battery Storage and EV Charging
Add battery storage or an EV charger to your Suryam solar system. Your roof powers your home and your car.
Battery Storage
4-6 hours of backup for essential loads during power cuts. Starting at Rs 80,000.
EV Charging
7 kW home charger. Run your car on sunlight. Starting at Rs 25,000.
Section 1
What it does: Stores solar energy generated during the day for use at night or during power cuts. A 2 kW lithium battery gives you 4-6 hours of backup for essential loads (fans, lights, WiFi, a few sockets).
Important Note
Battery systems are NOT eligible for PM Surya Ghar subsidy. Only on-grid systems qualify for the Rs 78,000 government subsidy. A hybrid system (solar + battery) costs more and saves the same on your grid bill -- the battery only helps during power cuts.

Pricing
Rs 80,000 -- 1,20,000
2 kWh lithium battery (LiFePO4)
Rs 1,80,000 -- 2,50,000
5 kWh lithium battery
Section 2
What it does: A dedicated EV charger (7 kW AC charger) installed at your home charges your electric vehicle from your solar generation during the day. Your EV runs on sunlight.
The Economics
An EV typically consumes 15-20 kWh per 100 km. At Rs 8-12/unit electricity cost, that is Rs 1.20-2.40 per km. With solar-generated electricity: near-zero variable cost after installation.
Compatible with all major EV brands available in India: Tata, MG, Hyundai, Ola, Ather, and others.
Pricing
Rs 25,000 -- 45,000
7 kW AC home charger (Type 2)
Compatible with all major EV brands available in India (Tata, MG, Hyundai, Ola, Ather, and others).
Section 3
If you already have a Suryam on-grid system and want to add battery backup, your existing installer handles the upgrade. The hybrid inverter replaces the string inverter; your panels stay in place.
Ask your installer during the site survey whether your system design allows for future battery addition -- planning ahead reduces upgrade cost later.
